Explore the Nano World

Dr. Wanyi Fu, a former doctoral student of Prof. Wen Zhang’s research group, recently received the 2019 Chinese Government Award for Outstanding Self-Financed Students Abroad, which was established by the China Scholarship Council (CSC) in 2003. This award is given by the Chinese government to graduate students studying abroad who do not receive financial support from the Chinese government. Recipients are chosen worldwide each year for their outstanding accomplishments in academia. Among all Chinese overseas graduate students, only 500 are awarded each year globally and will receive a plaque and a check of $6000. Dr. Fu competed this prestigious honor with numerous peers from surrounding universities within the New York consular district, such as Princeton University, Columbia University, Yale University, MIT, and NYU. Thus, this honor belongs to her and also belongs to NJIT for its rapid growth and strong support to research and education. Congratulations to Dr. Wanyi Fu and Prof. Wen Zhang!
